It is not recommended to use mascara in conjunction with eyelash extensions, however, if you must, keep these things in mind:
*waterproof mascara will make your extensions fall off, use a water based mascara if you must
*there are certain mascaras available that are made FOR use with eyelash extensions specifically (yay!) Try Noir mascara by Blink.
*try to apply the mascara more on the tips and avoid the base. It becomes difficult to clean your lashes if you avoid hard to reach areas.
This and more information about proper care and maintenance of eyelash extensions can be learned in our professional training course.
The art of applying individual eyelash extensions is one that should not be attempted by anyone without proper training. Salt City Lashes is proud to be working with Extensions For Eyelashes to provide the very best professional eyelash extension course.
When you get a set of eyelash extensions your artist will use tweezers to isolate a single natural lash and attach an individual eyelash extension to that natural lash using a semi-permanent adhesive.
Once the extension is attached to the lash, it should stay attached to that natural lash for the remainder of that hair's lash life which at that point should be anywhere between 2-4 weeks.
A skilled lash artist will know which lashes are safe to attach to, how to attach it and what size and thickness a particular lash can hold. Things go wrong when these factors are not considered during application.
Do you have a few eyelash extensions on that need removing and you don't have time to get into the salon? Try some baby oil or olive oil. Let the oils sit on the lashes themselves. The oils will break down the adhesive. Try not to pull on the extensions before they are loose or you could risk damaging your natural lashes. You can also try steam from a hot shower or humidifier prior to using oils. This being said, Salt City Lashes always recommends professional removal over at home care.
